Brendan Talwar, a postdoctoral scholar at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego, has emerged as a winner of Netflix’s marine competition series ‘All the Sharks’, alongside teammate Chris Malinowski of the Ocean First Institute.
The six-episode series, filmed across iconic marine locations including the Maldives, Galápagos Islands, The Bahamas, South Africa, Japan, and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, awarded points for photographing sharks in the wild, with rarer species earning higher scores. The duo, called the “Shark Docs,” secured the $50,000 prize, directing it to their nonprofits—Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) and Ocean First Institute. Reported by New India Abroad.
