India has officially signed a lease to establish a new Consulate General in downtown Los Angeles, marking a significant step in expanding its diplomatic footprint in the United States. Located in the iconic AON Center at 707 Wilshire Boulevard, this mission will serve as India’s second consulate in California and the seventh across the U.S. The move reflects California’s vital role in the growing India–U.S. partnership, both economically and culturally. According to New India Abroad, the new consulate will strengthen ties, enhance community services, and support the large Indian diaspora residing in the western region.
