The word Kantha has no specific etymological background, but it is believed to originate from the Sanskrit word “Kontha” which means rags. Its origin can be traced back to the pre-vedic period where the earliest written record was found to be 500 years old. Fabriclore has customized the Kantha to incorporate Sanganeri Jaal, Booti and Paisley Prints.
