On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s remarkable success in Operation Sindoor, calling it proof of the nation’s growing indigenous defence capabilities. Speaking from the Red Fort on the 79th Independence Day, his 12th consecutive address from the historic site, Modi said enemies underestimated the strength of “Made in India” weapons. Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the armed forces were given full operational freedom, enabling swift and decisive action. Modi noted that the operation punished adversaries “beyond their imagination” and left Pakistan unsettled. New India Abroad reports this as a defining moment for India’s self-reliance in defence.
