After the divorce I converted the smallest bedroom into a proper dressing area to mark the change rather than mourn it. The chest of drawers from DHS in black rattan was the largest piece of furniture I had bought just for myself in twelve years. The rattan fronts felt like a deliberate aesthetic choice rather than a default. The dressing space has become somewhere I spend time getting ready properly.
