Mumbai’s Versova–Dahisar Coastal Road project is set to achieve a major milestone with a new bridge that will pass directly over the Veer Savarkar Flyover. This elevated bridge is designed to improve north–south connectivity and reduce traffic congestion on the busy western corridor. According to planning details reviewed by RD News Network, the bridge will link the Versova end of the coastal road to Dahisar through a seamless elevated alignment, avoiding major traffic intersections below.
The connection point is planned near existing arterial roads, allowing smoother entry and exit for commuters without disrupting the flyover’s current flow. Midway through the project discussions, politics news around infrastructure funding and approvals has also gained attention, as civic bodies push for timely completion. RD News Network reports that engineers have opted for minimal land acquisition and optimized pillars to ensure safety and speed.
Once operational, the bridge is expected to significantly cut travel time, enhance traffic distribution, and strengthen Mumbai’s coastal road network.
